Hooptedoodle #357a - The Third World (contd)

Maybe this is a more general problem - here's the trailer for another of my very favourite films (if you've never seen this, I recommend it) - a French postal worker is traumatised by learning that he is to be transferred to Le Nord....

This movie, by the way, is the biggest laugh ever...

  1. Sounds like the accent there might be a bit like the Dutch one. Shexy football and all that. Is it set in the bit of Flanders the French took?

    1. Set in Bergues, up by the coalfields - as I recall, the locals go for nights out in Lille, they support the football team at Lens - like that.

  3. Eh up lad. A very funny film, reminds me a bit like moving from Windsor to North Yorkshire.

    1. I think my favourite character in the movie (among many) is Antoine's mother, with the parcels of cheese sandwiches.

  4. I love the bit where it starts raining the second he passes the welcome to The North sign...

    All the best. Aly
