Hooptedoodle #310a - Further Adventures of Batty...

[Spoiler: Batty has a short rest on top of a stone wall, then climbs up a tree and flies off home into the woods. If this goes viral, I'm going to be kicking myself for not putting adverts in the blog.]

    1. Later on we read all sorts of stuff about how you have to put them in a dark box, and release them at night. There was even a number for some Bat Protection League or something that can help. No wonder we have full employment in this bankrupt bloody country. Anyway, Batty seemed to cope with the daylight OK. He can sleep late this evening.

  3. What a wonderful little guy or gal! Bats from a distance are really kind of neat creatures.

    Best Regards,

    1. There not good for carrying disease and all that, so everything in its own place. Nice piece of engineering though. If you were to try to patent a device like that, they'd laugh you out of the office.

  4. Shouldn't he be home in bed by daylight? The poor bat population around here has been almost wiped out by disease, I miss having them swooping around in the evening eating the evil mosquitoes and such.

    1. I read somewhere that these chaps can eat 3000+ gnats a day. That's a lot of gnats. There must be scope for a delivery service. Can bats use smartphones? Must check it out. On the other hand, how would I catch the gnats to start with? Right - I could use bats.

This guy was actually trying to be asleep when we came across him - he just chose a bad location. He must have sneaked in through the roof window the night before.
